Itineraries
Day 1
Airport - Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (75kms/ 2 hrs. Drive) – Kandy (40kms/1h 20miuts drive)
On arrival to Bandaranayke International Airport Colombo, Guests will be garlanded and welcomed by a representative of AMC Holidays, then transfer to Kandy.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage was established in 1975. And it is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village, 13 km (8.1 mi) northwest of Kegalle town in Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. Pinnawala is notable for having the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. In 2011, there were 88 elephants, including 37 males and 51 females from 3 generations, living in Pinnawala. The orphanage was originally founded in order to afford care and protection too many of the orphaned unweaned wild elephants found wandering in and near the forests of Sri Lanka.

Kandy is one of the most beautiful cities of Sri Lanka that is known for its scenic beauty and rich cultural value, the last royal capital of Sri Lanka, Spread over an area of around 1940 square kilometers; it is counted amongst the world heritage sites of UNESCO. Kandy is a large city in central Sri Lanka. It's set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and biodiversity rainforest. The city's heart is scenic Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), which is popular for strolling. Kandy is famed for sacred Buddhist sites.
Visit the Spice Garden at Matale/Mawanella
During Past history Sri Lanka known as Taprobane, was world renowned for its Quality Spices. Spices are an essential element of the cuisine of Sri Lanka and the Ayurvedic tradition and a visit to a garden specializes in the cultivation of these substances and an excellent way for purposes of new uses of certain ingredients that perhaps though they knew well. Find cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, cardamom and black pepper, to name a few. Europeans can buy the products in their natural state or in the form of oils and potions that are used by Ayurvedic medicine, during the Dutch, very famous spices of Sri Lanka and we export to different countries. That has earned the country the name of "Island of the spices”.
Visit Gem Museum & Jewellary workshop
Visit to a gem museum and jewellary marking workshop, demonstration and film of world best gem stones and mining in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka's gem industry has a very long and colorful history. Sri Lanka was affectionately known as Ratna-Dweepa which means Gem Island. The name is a reflection of its natural wealth. Marco Polo wrote that the island had the best sapphires, topazes, amethysts, and other gems in the world.Sri Lanka is blessed with over 70 varieties of coloured stones out of 200 found in the world and is among the five most important gem-bearing nations of the world. Notably, Sri Lanka’s major strength is the “Ceylon Sapphire”. While Sri Lankan jewellery manufacturers demonstrate remarkable craftsmanship, Sri Lankan gem suppliers offer a wide range of Ceylon gems to the global gem market representing the country’s breathtaking natural heritage.
Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden
Royal Botanical Garden, Peradeniya is situated about 5.5 km to the west from the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka and attracts 2 million visitors annually. It is renowned for its collection of a variety of orchids. It includes more than 4000 species of plants, including of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres (0.59 km2), at 460 meters above sea level, and with a 200-day annual rainfall.
Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic
Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple.

Evening witness a Culture show for 45 min from 5.30 pm to 6.30 p.m. Here you will see colorful live Dances featuring various provincial dance types of Sri Lanka including nice mask dance performances and fireworks and nice drum beats etc.
